Toxicology laboratory analysis and human exposure top-chloroaniline

Abstract: Introduction-p-Chloroaniline is more potent at producing methemoglobin than aniline in animal models. This case highlights the clinical presentation of an inhalation exposure to p-chloroaniline and associated laboratory analysis. An in-vitro study evaluating the metabolism of p-chloroaniline in human hepatocytes was undertaken to evaluate the metabolic fate more closely.

“…On the other hand, Å OH is quenched by carbonate, phosphate, and other inorganic ions present in natural water. Moreover, O 3 and KMnO 4 react selectively with electron-rich moieties [12,13]. Persulfate (PS), which forms a strong oxidizing agent (SO 4 ÀÅ ), has recently emerged as a suitable oxidant because the sulfate radical possesses a high redox potential (E 0 = 2.6 V) [14] like other oxidizing agents (the E 0 values of H 2 O 2 , KMnO 4 , and O 3 in aqueous solution are 1.78 V, 1.70 V, and 2.07 V, respectively) [15,16].…”

“…p-Chloroaniline (PCA) is a ''three-included'' material and one of the most persistent organic pollutants that can harm the ecology and human health [1]. PCA, as a toxic and recalcitrant compound, is an important environmental pollutant in industrial wastewater that must be efficiently removed through wastewater treatment [2,3]. However, PCA cannot be directly treated using conventional biological [4][5][6] or photocatalysis [7,8] technologies.…”

“…Urinalysis revealed a urine pH of 9.0 and was otherwise unremarkable. Urine comprehensive drug screen performed using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS)12 showed large spikes corresponding to topiramate (retention time 19.9 minutes) and ibuprofen. A smaller peak (retention time 20.9 minutes) was identified by its fragmentation spectrum in the GC/MS library as 10-hydroxytopiramate.…”
