During the life cycle of a Business-to-Business (B2B) collaboration, companies may need to redesign or change parts of their service orchestrations. A change request proposed by one partner will, in most cases, result in changes to other partner orchestration. An accurate prediction of the behavior of a change request and an analysis of its impacts on the collaboration allows to avoid significant costs related to unsuccessful propagation, e.g. negotiation fail. This paper focuses on predicting the likelihood of a change request propagation as well as its ripple effects on the overall collaboration. To estimate these values, the approach analyses the collaboration structure through a priori analysis. We will show how the prediction models can be specified and implemented within a proof-of-concept prototype. Discussion will be provided on visualization possibilities and model validation.

In order to improve the efficiency of building a real-time performance monitoring system in collaboration business process environment, a framework integrated with the collaboration business process system based on artifact-centric collaboration (ACC) model is prompted. With the view information of ACC model, a rule-based method is proposed to collect real-time data and the monitoring system is abstracted as a monitoring model. After the monitoring designer defines a monitoring model according to monitoring requirements, the monitoring model is automatically transformed to the technical specification of the monitoring system. With this framework, the monitor designer can focus on designing the monitoring model other than details of the technical specification. There is no need to negotiate with collaborative partner from design to deployment without risk of privacy leakage. This approach both increases the agility of the monitoring system and reduces the difficulty in building a monitoring system.

Monitoring provides well established means to track the exchanged messages in cross-organizational processes. Complex Event Processing (CEP) is a technology used by monitoring systems that aims to process incoming events and generate high-level information. Current implementation of CEP has performance issues when the processing of events involves calling a composition of services to generate the required information. In this paper we develop a conceptual framework that relies on a set of patterns that maximize the parallel processing of incoming events. These patterns are used to split the composition of services into a set of blocks that can be executed in parallel while ensuring an effective correlation of the intermediate results. Our approach significantly decreases the processing time without requiring too many resources. We implemented a prototype of our framework and conducted performance evaluation in comparison with existing software.
