Toward an Ideal Synthesis of (Bio)molecules through Direct Arene Assembling Reactions

Abstract: CH (hetero)arylation of aromatic compounds using transition-metal catalysts has garnered much attention from the synthetic chemistry community as a next-generation coupling method for constructing (hetero)biaryl motifs. This account describes our recent achievements in transitionmetal-catalyzed aromatic CH arylation and its applications to the synthesis of bioactive molecules.

“…Nanoarchitectonics based on self-assembly relies both on exploration of chemical designs [335,336] and self-assembly processes [337,338]. However, without creation of totally new molecules, the self-assembly processes themselves can open a huge variation of materials possibilities.…”

“…Although various scientific disciplines have contributed to developments in functional materials, there is a common consensus concerning methodologies to create functional materials, such as (i) the design, synthesis, and functionalization of unit molecules and materials [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] and (ii) the rational organization of synthesized units into functional architectures [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] . Regulation of nanoscale structures and their organization is crucial to synthesize functional materials.…”

“…Nanoarchitectonics may be a good navigator for evolution from materials to life activities 117 as well as design and constructions of highly advanced bioactive functional materials systems. Not limited to bio-related systems, 452,453 the ways of materials construction by nanoarchitectonics would become nice guides for developments of functional systems in chemistry including synthesis of novel molecules, 454,455 fabrication and functionalization of low-dimensional materials, 456,457 and construction of hybrid materials, 458 and others.…”
