Este trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre a modelagem de um motor de indução trifásico (MIT) e os procedimentos necessários para a implementação de um algoritmo para o estimador Filtro de Kalman Estendido (FKE) utilizando dados reais. A aquisição de dados foi realizada utilizando transdutores para a medição de valores instantâneos de sinais em corrente contínua, alternada e pulsada, entre outras formas de onda. Foi utilizado um MIT de 1/3 CV e um inversor de frequência trifásico de uso industrial. Com uma frequência de amostragem de 10 kHz, as medições foram realizadas no circuito elétrico entre o MIT e o inversor. O tempo de partida do motor foi alterado entre um ensaio e outro, assim como a frequência de chaveamento empregada no circuito de potência do inversor. Os dois modos de controle de velocidade disponibilizados pelo fabricante do inversor foram testados. Foram realizados, também, ensaios com o motor de quatro polos energizado sem carga no eixo e a plena carga com o uso de um freio eletromagnético. Por meio do ajuste das matrizes de covariância, foi possível obter um conjunto de valores que satisfizesse com boa concordância a estimativa de velocidade do motor e para todos os ensaios realizados.
