Abstract:Varley loop determinations are subject to inaccuracy where the insulation resistance of the good wire is not considerably greater than that of the faulty wire. Two factors contribute to the error, one of which can be allowed for in Behrend's test or in the double Varley loop. An extension of Behrend's method is described which will correct for both factors.S u S 2 and S 3 and the corresponding bridge balancing resistances are R { R 2 and /? 3 , then 2(L -X) = S 2 y (2) where a *= R 3 (Ri -R 2 ), j8 = Ri(R 2 -R… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
