Tomada de decisão e a sucessão na agricultura familiar no sul do Brasil

Abstract

ResumoA ausência de sucessores na agricultura familiar tende a gerar incertezas no que diz respeito não apenas à continuidade das famílias e das atividades produtivas, mas também às comunidades rurais, as quais gradativamente perdem sua população e passam a sentir os reflexos dessa mudança sobre suas dinâmicas sociais. Diante disso, o objetivo desse artigo é analisar quais fatores influenciam a tomada de decisão de jovens filhos de agricultores familiares a não suceder a atividade familiar na Região Sul do Brasil, segundo estudos realizados nas duas últimas décadas. Os principais fatores identificados são dificuldade em obtenção de terra, ausência de incentivo por parte dos pais, comparação entre urbano e rural, penosidade das atividades agrícolas, desigualdade de gênero, busca por estudo e expectativa profissional. Ao afastar os filhos das atividades -uma consequência direta da ausência de participação na tomada de decisões e na administração dos negócios -, os produtores não os preparam para administrar a propriedade e os desencorajam a perceber viabilidade na vida no meio rural. AbstractThe lack of successors in family farming tends to generate uncertainty not only in giving continuity of families and productive activities, but also on rural communities, which gradually lose their population and begin to feel the effects of this change on their social dynamics. Thus, the aim of this article is to analyze which factors influence the decision making of young children of farmers not succeeds family activity in southern Brazil, according to studies conducted in the last two decades. The main factors identified are difficulty in obtaining land, lack of encouragement from parents, comparison between urban and rural, painfulness of agricultural activities, gender inequality, search for study and professional expectations. Structural features, labor conditions and family succession in dairy production systems in Paraná State, Brazil
