To Buy or Not to Buy: Who are Political Consumers? What do they Think and How do they Participate?

Abstract: Political consumerism has recently generated academic interest among political participation researchers. While some scholars underscore political consumerism as an emerging civic and political engagement, others discredit its democratic potentials. Of course, there is a phase difference time wise, as the Cowe and Williams's (2000) data most probably refer to the end of the nineties while the Baek's (2010) data have been gathered in 2002. This observation indicates the already mentioned delay in the formulation of an ethical segment in the Greek market.…”
