“…When bacterial products such as lipopolysaccharide, teichoic acid, or peptidoglycan are introduced into the cerebrospinal fluid either by direct injection into the cerebrospinal fluid or by lysis of live bacteria with the administration of antibiotics, cytokines can be detected in the cerebrospinal fluid.
