“…Apart from the abovementioned works, Table summarizes other recently published MOF‐derived catalysts for photocatalytic HER, including MoS 2 @TiO 2 nanohybrid, Ni 2 P/CdS composite, Cu/CuO@TiO 2 nanocomposites, yolk–shell CdS microcubes, porous CdS, Cu–Cu 2 O nanoparticles, Pd‐decorated TiO 2 , MoS 2 nanosheets, N‐doped graphitic carbon, and Co–Zn–Cd–S nanocrystals . It can also be noticed in Table that quite a few studies still require the use of Pt as the cocatalyst for prominent photocatalytic HER performance, which weakens the practicability of reported catalysts in reality.…”

“…As illustrated in Figure , both 1 and 2 exhibit three continuous absorption bands centered at 271 nm, 377 nm, and 602 nm with different absorption widths and intensities. As compared with the DSR of the isolated HL ligand, the former two bands of the complexes should be assigned to the intraligand π→π* and n→π* transitions of the HL ligand, which are slightly red‐shift due to the coordination interaction between Cu II ion and organic ligand HL. The third absorption band centered at 602 nm can be attributed to the d–d spin‐allowed transitions of Cu II ion .…”

“…Cuprous oxide is often used in conjunction with additional functional elements, such as noble metals (e.g., Pt [ 288 , 289 ], Au [ 290 ] or metal copper [ 291 , 292 , 293 , 294 ]) to prepare ternary hybrid photocatalysts. A review that includes several references and experimental results on the use of TiO 2 /Cu 2 O composites for H 2 production through photoreforming processes has been recently published by Marotta and coworkers [ 287 ].…”
