This paper presents an approach for developing risk management strategies for ring roads in coastal abrasion Lhokseumawe ring roads. Currently, management strategies in these regions are designed to rubble mount breakwaters on coastal performance under traffic loads. However, recent large-scale waves and their associated damage to coastal areas have demonstrated the need to consider the height when making coastal management decisions. This paper aims to develop a risk management strategy that includes handling/controlling accelerated beach abrasion which damages coastal infrastructure buildings and the application of the ALARP scheme as an acceptable risk control limit for decision makers in risk management so as to minimize the potential impact at any given time... The methods consider the rate of coastal abrasion associated with hazards and the economic, social, and environmental consequences of collapse under high tide. The data were collected from the satellite Landsat range of the 1995-2021 year. The analysis adopted Digital Shoreline Analysis System with Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM). The risk management strategies are achieved by formulating and solving a multi-objective optimization problem. This problem's findings include abrasion -2.11 m/year and accretion maximum at 111.34 m or 4.45%. The height of the wave was found approximately range 2.33-10.25 sec, and the period average 4.57 m/year. In addition, the periods of the wave were in the range of 2.33-10.25 sec, and the average period was 4.57 sec. The topography characteristics were found between 0 and 8.60 meters, with an average level, is 4.30 meters. The percentage of the slope of the shoreline was found to be 2.90 to 4.47%, and the average beach slope was 3.76%. The risk management achieved in ring roads was relevant to the application scheme ALARP zone to solve the problem from very high to hight risk. The rubble mound breakwaters along the coast were believed to minimize abrasion and mitigate disasters to protect infrastructure ring roads for a long time.

Kecamatan Gending, Kabupaten Probolinggo merupakan kawasan industri yang mulai berkembang di pesisir utara Jawa Timur. Perkembangan industri tersebut memicu terjadinya pemanasan global (perubahan iklim) yang dapat memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan diantaranya adalah abrasi pantai, kemunduran garis pantai, konflik penggunaan lahan, kerusakan fisik khususnya habitat pesisir, dan lain sebagainya. Perubahan iklim yang yang terjadi terus-menerus akan dapat meningkatkan kerentanan wilayah terhadap bencana salah satunya adalah banjir rob. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat kerentanan di wilayah tersebut terhadap perubahan iklim menggunakan metode Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI). Metode CVI merupakan metode pembobotan relatif berbasis skala indeks dari parameter fisik. Parameter fisik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi parameter pasang surut, tinggi gelombang, kemiringan pantai, perubahan garis pantai, kenaikan muka air laut, ketinggian permukaan tanah dan geomorfologi (tutupan lahan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kecamatan Gending yang meliputi beberapa Desa diantaranya Desa Curahsawo, Desa Pajurangan, Desa Gending, Desa Pesisir dan Desa Klaseman memiliki tingkat kerentanan yang sedang dengan parameter paling berpengaruh adalah kenaikan muka air laut, dan parameter yang paling rendah pengaruhnya adalah parameter tinggi gelombang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut maka diperlukan upaya penanggulangan berupa kegiatan mitigasi baik secara hard structure maupun soft untuk mengurangi dampak dari bencana banjir rob di wilayah pesisir.

Highlight Research This is the first study of microplastics in four beach sediments in the east part of Java Island. Bahak and Pesona Beach are connected to Java Sea (north part), while Tambak Rejo and Balekambang Beach are connected to Indian Ocean (south part). A higher microplastics were observed on the beaches of the north part compared to the south part. Local sources and oceanographic parameters of the beaches influence the presence of microplastics in the study areas. Abstract Microplastic pollution in beach sediments has been studied intensively worldwide, but there are limited studies in the beach areas of the eastern Java Island, Indonesia. This study aimed to identify the distribution of microplastic in four beaches in Indonesia: Bahak, Pesona, Tambakrejo, and Balekambang. The first two beaches are located in the north of Java Island and influenced by the east Java Sea, while the last two are located in the south and influenced by the Indian Ocean. Sediment samples were collected along the strandline inside the 1 × 1 m transect quadrate in the top 5 cm using a stainless-steel shovel. Microplastic and granulometry analyses were conducted to obtain microplastic and sediment grain size data, respectively. Physical parameters of the beaches, such as wind, wave, and ocean current, were calculated using Copernicus and NASA (PODAAC), respectively. The total abundance of microplastic ranged from 54.7 ± 48.6 to 103.3 ± 4.7 particles kg-1 with the following descending order: Bahak > Pesona > Tambakrejo > Balekambang. Although there was no statistically significant difference in microplastic concentrations among the beaches, the beaches connected to the Java Sea accumulated more microplastics than the ones connected to the Indian Ocean. Fiber and blue were the dominating type and colors of microplastic. The results confirm that the distribution of microplastic is associated with the morphology of the beaches and the local source.
