TIME-DRIVEN opportunistic routing protocol for ultra-wideband indoor positioning

Abstract: The scope of a single regional indoor positioning network is often restricted to its main anchor communication range and more susceptible to obstacles. Multiple main anchors can be the basis of an indoor positioning network's extensibility and can adapt to the complex communication environment. In this article, a novel TIME-DRIVEN opportunistic routing protocol with intelligent response is proposed. First, an extendable ultra-wideband positioning system is modeled. In two or more communication cells, anchors c… Show more

“…With the maturity of wireless communication technology, the demand for accurate indoor positioning technology in large venues, home security, and commercial and military fields is very urgent. 1,2 At present, the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology compatible with the IEEE 802.15.4-2011 standard has become the main indoor positioning technology due to its unique advantages in data bandwidth, accuracy, and real-time performance. 3 In the existing positioning algorithm, the time difference of arrival (TDoA) algorithm is widely applicable because it does not require strict clock synchronization between the base station (BS) and the mobile station (MS) and can obtain more accurate positioning while maintaining strict time synchronization between the BSs.…”

“…Precise indoor positioning technology plays an increasingly important role in home safety, public service and other commercial and military applications [1].UWB has obvious advantages in accuracy, real-time performance and data bandwidth. What's more, it has strong anti-multipath capability, high time resolution and penetrating ability [2,3]. These features are conducive to real-time positioning and dynamic data collection in indoor complex multipath environments.…”
