Time-delayed position feedback control for a unique active vibration isolator

Abstract: This work examines the characteristics of a unique active vibration isolator controlled by a time-delayed position feedback technique. The system under study possesses an appreciable time delay caused by the actuator dynamics. Firstly, direct absolute position and relative position feedbacks are considered. The study reveals several main differences between a negative position feedback and a positive position feedback. Secondly, stability analysis of the delayed position feedback is carried out. Two different … Show more

“…Delayed feedback control has been used to inhibit or stabilize the vibration of the primary system in a twodegree-of-freedom dynamical system with a parametrically stimulated pendulum [16]. The authors of [17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24] used different controllers to investigate the vibration regulation of a number of devices with time delays. In addition, [25][26][27][28] applied and studied different control methods to decrease the dangerous vibrations which are made in different nonlinear systems.…”

“…Delayed feedback control has been used to inhibit or stabilize the vibration of the primary system in a two-degree-of-freedom dynamical system with a parametrically stimulated pendulum [25]. The authors of [26][27][28][29][30][31][32] used different controllers to investigate the vibration regulation of a number of devices with time delays. Mondal and Chatterjee [33] suggested the use of a velocity feedback dependent nonlinear resonant controller to monitor the free and forced self-excited vibration of a nonlinear beam.…”

“…Consequentially, the vibration control of a smart structure with a controller considering the time delay [8] has been researched for many years, such as a time-delay acceleration feedback control of mechanical oscillators [9], an active vibration controller (with time delay) for a flexible cantilever beam [10], a new multi-input single-output delay feedback controller of a cantilever beam [11], a time-delayed position feedback technique for a unique active vibration isolator [12], a single-mode delayed-feedback control strategy for a flexible beam using a piezoelectric actuator [13] and so on. But the time delay may threaten the stability of control system.…”
