Öz: Bu araştırmada, sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarının çokkültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumları ile kültürlerarası duyarlılıkları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öğretmen adaylarının öğrenim gördükleri anabilim dalı ve büyüdükleri yerleşim yeri değişkenlerine göre çokkültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumları ve kültürlerarası duyarlılıklarında farklılık olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Araştırmada durum saptamaya yönelik genel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu Uludağ Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesine devam eden 110 sınıf ve 103 okul öncesi öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarından oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada kişisel bilgi formu, Çok Kültürlü Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Kültürlerarası Duyarlılık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının çok kültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumlarını ve kültürlerarası duyarlılık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılan Kolmogorov-Smirnov normallik testi sonucunda dağılımın normal olmadığı saptanmıştır. Bu nedenle Kruskall Wallis-H (KWH) ve Mann Whitney U (U) testleri uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının çokkültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumları ile kültürlerarası duyarlılıkları arasındaki ilişki korelasyon analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarının çok kültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumları ile kültürlerarası duyarlılık düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının çok kültürlü eğitime yönelik tutumları ve kültürlerarası duyarlılık düzeylerinin öğrenim gördükleri anabilim dalına ve büyüdükleri yerleşim yerine göre anlamlı bir farklılığa yol açmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this study was to examine the beliefs that teachers have about diversity and their level of sensitivity towards some topics related to it. Moreover, beliefs were compared according to teachers' personal and professional views and teaching experience. The Personal and Professional Beliefs about Diversity Scales (Pohan and Aguilar, 1999) were administered to a sample of 233 teachers. Results showed highly positive beliefs towards diversity in all its dimensions (cultural, linguistic and social diversity, ability, gender, sexual orientation and religion), especially regarding its personal implications compared to the professional ones. Likewise, it was observed a significant relationship between years of teaching experience and professional beliefs about diversity, so teachers with no school experience showed a higher tolerance than those with teaching experience, mainly in aspects related to cultural, linguistic and social differences, ability and gender. The implications that these results have for educational practice and the need for the development of multicultural education courses that favour an effective teaching are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to adapt the Turkish version of Teacher's Cultural Beliefs Scale (OCDS) that is developed by Hachfeld et al (2011) that determines the cultural beliefs of teacher candidates, to determine physical education teachers' cultural beliefs and to compare physical education teacher candidates and other teacher candidates in terms of cultural beliefs and in addition, to examine cultural beliefs in terms of gender and grade variables in education. The research group consists of 330 teacher candidates in total that are educated at the faculty of physical education and training. As a data collection tool, OCDC and personal information form were used. In the analysis of research data, t-test and one way analysis of variance technique were used in order to determine the difference between descriptive statistics and dependent and independent variables. While there is not encountered significant difference (p>05) between arithmetic averages that are in attitude levels for cultural beliefs in terms of grade variables (p>.05), there is a significant differences in belief subscale and total scale for egalitarianism according to gender (p<.05). Besides, there are significant differences determined in attitudes towards cultural beliefs of teacher candidates of physical education and training faculties in terms of department variables (p<.05). Consequently, it was seen that the beliefs about multiculturalism and egalitarianism of physical education teacher candidates and other teacher candidates have been positive and as well as this, it was determined that other teacher candidates were at a higher level according to physical education teacher candidates.
