Thirty-day incidence and six-month clinical outcome of thrombotic stent occlusion after bare-metal, sirolimus, or paclitaxel stent implantation

Abstract: The unrestricted use of SES or PES is associated with ST rates in the range expected for BMS. Stent thrombosis was associated with a high morbidity and mortality. Bifurcation stenting, when performed in patients with acute myocardial infarction, was associated with an increased risk of ST.

“…Afterwards, from BMS to DES, the coronary artery interventional procedure has achieved bril-liant advancements, but still issues such as thrombosis and restenosis are present. For DES, encouraging results were reported in the early-mid period clinical experiments compared to the metal stents [61]; however, the results with the concerns for late thrombosis due to the stent remaining in the body after the release of the drug are being suggested [62,63]. While there is no accurately clarified mechanism regarding the phenomenon, excessive inflammatory reaction is caused due to the drugs and healing process is blocked to cause the formation of new inner membrane.…”

“…Az Országos Kardiológiai Intézet Prevenciós Labo ratóriumban a kardiológiai nem invazív vizsgálatok kal (27) a közepes CV rizikójú egyéneknél további rizikóstratifikációt végzünk, ill. a nagy CV rizikójú egyéneknél az atheroscleroticus elváltozások felis merésére törekszünk a korai szakban. Az eredmé nyek ismeretében a gyógyszeres és nem gyógyszeres kezelés beállítása és a beteg felvilágosítása történik.…”

“…Compared with a bare metal stent, a drug-eluting stent obviously reduces the occurrence rate of in-stent restenosis after PCI but increases the risk of ST. Drug-eluting stents also delay vascular endothelial healing. Incomplete endothelialization and local vascular hypersensitivity may cause late ST, which increases patient mortality by 15-45% (4,5). Thus, anti-platelet therapy should be enhanced in patients with coronary heart disease after PCI, particularly after implantation of a drug-eluting stent.…”
