Thermodynamic assessment of the binary system (Bi–Zn)

Abstract: A thermodynamic assessment of the (Bi–Zn) system has been done using the CALPHAD (calculation of phase diagrams) method. The Gibbs energy of the liquid phase is described by the Redlich–Kister model, taking into account that the enthalpy and entropy of mixing of the liquid depend on the temperature. The optimized thermodynamic functions obtained using the model parameters were compared and discussed with known experimental and assessed data available in the references.
