“…In the FT-IR spectrum of fucoidan at 100 °C ( Figure 6 a), characteristic bands were observed in the ranges of 3550–3200, 1630–1600 and 600–400 cm −1 corresponding to the asymmetric and symmetric OH stretching, HOH bending and the rotational oscillations of the water molecules [ 27 ]. Simultaneously, the ionic current scans in the mass spectra at the temperature of 25–200 °C showed the signals at m / z 17 and 18 ( Figure 6 b) related to the OH + and H 2 O + species [ 28 , 29 ].
