Thermal Properties of Composite Polymer Electrolytes Poly(Ethylene Oxide)/Sodium Trifluoroacetate/Aluminum Oxide (PEO)10CF3COONa + x wt.% Al2O3

Abstract: Polymeric membranes of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and sodium trifluoroacetate (PEO:CF3COONa) combined with different concentrations of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) particles were analyzed by impedance spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TGA). DSC results show changes in the crystalline fraction of PEO when the concentration of Al2O3 is increased. TGA analysis showed thermal stability up to 430 K showing small changes with the addition of alumina particles. The decrease in crys… Show more

“…The representative DSC thermograms of SF, PEO, nonirradiated SF-PEO-0, and irradiated SF-PEO-25/air and SF-PEO-25/N 2 are shown in Figure C. PEO is known as a thermoplastic semicrystalline polymer. , The melting temperatures ( T m ) of PEO and SF-PEO-0 were observed at 60.6 and 62.6 °C, respectively. The T m of SF-PEO-25/air is equal to that of the nonirradiated one.…”

“…The average roughness is ~ 15 nm with some big spike in heights due to some MoS 2 agglomerates present on the surface. Where is the melting enthalpy measured in the experiment, ⁰ = 203 J/g which is the melting enthalpy of 100% crystalline PEO [16,17]. It is observed that the percentage of crystallinity fraction (χ c %) has increased significantly up to 59.34 % in PEO-MoS 2 films in comparison to 17.34 % as that of calculated for pure films.…”
