Thermal Neutron Scattering Evaluation of Yttrium Hydride (FY2020 Progress)

Abstract: This paper details the thermal neutron scattering measurements of yttrium hydride for various hydrogen concentrations and temperatures that were conducted at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Measurements at a temperature range of 5 to 1,200 K were conducted to determine the change in inelastic scattering as a function of temperature and to probe for any anharmonic effects known to exist in other metallic hydrides.
