Theoretical Study of Superconducting Annular Ring Microstrip Antenna With Several Dielectric Layers

Abstract: Abstract-An analytical model is presented to investigate the performances of an annular-ring patch etched on a two layered dielectric substrate and is covered by a dielectric superstrate, by using a full-wave spectral domain technique in conjunction with the complex resistive boundary condition. Galerkin's method and Parseval's theorem are used to obtain the resonant frequency and bandwidth. To validate the theoretical results, a study has been performed for an annular-ring patch on a single layer, with air ga… Show more

“…Partly due to their very low surface impedance, smaller losses, smaller dispersion and smaller propagation time have been reported showing that HTS patches are good candidates for current rapid communications. Furthermore, greater performances have been obtained using anisotropic dielectrics or substrate/superstrate configurations for HTS rectangular [10][11][12] and circular patch [13][14][15].…”

“…Two different cases have been investigated. First, the DRA without superstrate and then DRA with superstrate (Barkat, 2012;Yaduvanshi, 2012). Antenna gain was optimised for circular patch size and arrays (Guha et al, 2012;Petosa et al, 2003).…”

“…This papers looks into the possibility of monolithic behaviour of an active slot-ring antenna that is manifesting transmission, reception, and demodulation at the same time [16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Specially, these papers demonstrate that (1) an active microstrip slotring antenna can act as a tracking demodulator while it is receives with excellent noise squelching capability, and (2) it can act as an aid to the development of a software defined discriminator which can adapt to different radio environment.…”
