The Use of Fly Ash as Additive Material to High Strength Concrete

Abstract: Abstract. The use of coal waste (Fly Ash) is currently being developed in building materials technology, as a high-strength concrete mix material. This study aims to determine the strength of concrete by adding fly ash as a substitute for cement in high-strength concrete mixtures. This research was conducted with an experimental method to obtain results and data that would confirm the variables studied. The total number of specimens used in this study were 36 pieces with different sizes of cube tests which wer… Show more

“…Dari segi karakteristik bottom ash hampir sama dengan karateristik pasir, sehingga memungkinkan apabila digunakan sebagai bahan altematif pengganti agregat halus (pasir) pada campuran pembuatan pembuatan beton, batako ,paving blok, dan sebagainya. Penggunaan 100% bottom ash dapat diterapkan pada beton dimana kelecakan bisa diabaikan, misalnya pada pembuatan paving [7].…”

“…There have been many research works on the utilization of fly ash in improving the quality of concrete and decreasing global emissions. Fly ash utilization of coal waste combustion is developed in building materials technology with various mixtures to get higher-strength concrete [11]. In its utilization of high-quality concrete, fly ash has the size of smooth granules, and this makes concrete denser.…”

“…This phenomenon indicates that the production of rebar is becoming massive each year, along with its associated emissions, namely carbon dioxide, Sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide, and other particulates. Due to the escalating environmental impact of cement and rebar production, alternative materials need to be discussed (Dixit, et al, 2019) (Riofrio, et al, 2022), such as the utilization of ground glass and coal bottom ashes (Kasaniya, et al, 2021), fly ashes (Pangestuti, et al, 2018), and bamboo leaf (Odeyemi, et al, 2022).…”
