With the increasing trend of globalization, English, as the most widely used language in the world, has become a subject that many people must learn. English for special purposes is mainly applied to some specialized occupations or English in specific professional skill fields. Due to the increasing national demand for professional compound talents, the status of English for special purposes is also getting higher and higher. However, there are still many problems in the curriculum setting of English for special purposes, for example, outdated teaching mode, lack of oral language skills training, lack of students’ ability to cope with actual situations, weak teaching awareness of teachers, and lack of analysis of students’ needs for English for special purposes, resulting in poor students’ enthusiasm for learning and so on. With the support of blockchain technology, combined with consensus algorithm, hash function algorithm, and smart contract, this paper analyzes English for special purposes, establishes an ESP management system and a corpus of spoken English for special purposes, and analyzes the integrity of the corpus data. The test found that when the number of error data blocks is 10, the total number of damaged data blocks and verification accuracy data blocks is about 4% in order to achieve 99% accuracy. Therefore, the integrity of the system is higher when the damage ratio is lower. The system integrity test finds that, with the number of wrong data being larger, when the wrong data block is at 100, 50% of the data blocks of the system integrity are about 1%. The database is complete, which is more helpful for students to study systematically.

Psychological well-being is an important aspect for students that needs to be considered in the current situation, which in fact many are faced with academic burnout. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between psychological well-being and student academic burnout. The research design used is correlation, with a research sample of 180 students. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling. Collecting data using psychological well-being scale and academic burnout scale. The data analysis technique used is Pearson's product moment. The results showed that psychological well-being has a negative relationship with academic burnout. This means that the higher the psychological well-being of students, the lower their academic burnout. These findings can be used as a basis for universities to provide mental health services needed by students and lecturers needed to assist students in providing guidance and counseling services. Abstrak: Kesejahteraan psikologis merupakan salah satu aspek penting bagi mahasiswa yang perlu diperhatikan ketika mereka menghadapi situasi yang kurang menguntungkan, salah satunya kejenuhan akademik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kesejahteraan psikologis dengan kejenuhan akademik mahasiswa. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan korelasi, dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 180 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportional random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala kesejahteraan psikologis dan skala kejenuhan akademik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesejahteraan psikologis memiliki hubungan negatif dengan kejenuhan akademik. Artinya semakin tinggi kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa, maka semakin rendah kejenuhan akademiknya. Temuan ini dapat menjadi pijakan bagi perguruan tinggi untuk memberikan layanan kesehatan mental yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa dan dosen konselor yang dibutuhkan untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam memberikan layanan bimbingan dan konseling.

A Mixed-Methods Study of Computer-Mediated Communication Paired With Instruction on EFL Learners' Pragmatic Competence

The use of computer-mediated communication (CMC) has been growing as an approach to facilitating second/foreign language (L2/FL) acquisition. Existing literature adopting CMC has investigated the efficacy of various devices (e.g., blogs, emails). However, few studies have explored the potential advantages of augmenting CMC-based learning with instruction. This study investigated the impact of CMC paired with instruction on EFL learners' pragmatic competence. Sixty-five Chinese EFL students were divided into two groups; the experimental group engaged in CMC with native English speakers and received instruction in compliment responses (CRs), while the control group had CMC without intervention. Result from an independent samples t-test indicated a significant difference between groups for properly using CRs, favoring the experimental group (p = .023). Furthermore, findings from interviews showed that cognitive load, teachers, and pragmatic knowledge affect EFL learners' pragmatic behaviors. Implications are discussed.
