The use of agents in human learning systems

Abstract: This paper examines agent-based systems designed for a variety of human learning tasks. These are typically split into two areas: "training", which generally refers to adult learning of job-related skills, frequently but not exclusively in military settings; and "education", which generally refers to child and adult learning in academic settings, including primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities. While the terms may indicate diverse areas within the field of human learning, from the standpoint… Show more

“…-The pedagogical module, or tutor, is the instructional, or teaching, component [27] which contains a set of rules about how to control and influence the student's learning process. The tutoring system uses this module to guide the student through the knowledge domain [29].…”

“…Whereas non-educational interactive agent-based systems are designed to be good assistants, simplifying a user's experiences, systems built for human learning should provide challenges for Sklar & Richards, 2006), and (c) intelligent tutoring system (from Beck et al, 1996) 114 E .
