“…Sensitivity is lower in case of recent gastrointestinal bleeding or in patients recently treated with PPIs, antibiotics, bismuth-containing compounds, or when diffuse atrophy and intestinal metaplasia are present. For RUT, one biopsy from the antrum and one biopsy from the corpus should be taken to minimize false-negative results [61] . Falsepositive tests are unusual but may occur when urease-containing bacteria, such as Proteus mirabilis, Citrobacter freundii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, and Staphylococcus aureus , are present in the stomach [3 , 62] .…”

“…Because of the advantage of being a non-invasive test and free from worry about gastric malignancy, stool antigen test may be used in childhood [13]. Rapid urease test is a diagnostic test used for diagnosis of the H.pylori that may be performed during endoscopy procedure and an additional biopsy from the gastric mucosa is enough to detect of H.pylori [14]. In recent studies it is reported that additional biopsies taken from gastric body and antrum may reduce false negative results [15].PCR method and H.pylori culture are the other diagnostic methods.…”

“…11 Moreover, Wong et al reported RUT from the combination of biopsy at body and antrum had better yield than antrum or body alone in patients taking PPI within 1 week before EGD. 21 This information is supported by the 2007 ACG guidelines which suggest that RUT should be done at both antrum and body in patients with history of PPI use. 10 The most possible explanation for this is that H pylori migrates from antrum to body when using PPI.…”
