The Twinning of the World: Sister Cities in Geographic and Historical Perspective

Abstract: Zarys treści. Głównym celem artykułu jest próba zdefiniowania pojęcia "miasto podwójne" jako formy osadniczej oraz uporządkowanie terminologii stosowanej w odniesieniu do tej grupy miast. Miasta podwójne, to jednostki powstałe w wyniku administracyjnego połączenia dwóch miast. W dosłownym rozumieniu są to miasta złożone z dwóch elementów składowych o miejskim rodowodzie.
