“…30,31 Overall, the effects of other adjusted characteristics in the regression models are consistent with previous findings. 4,12,16,32,33 Age and CD4 count were both significantly associated with the three treatment outcomes. Older age showed an association with lower CD4 increase and an increased risk of mortality.…”

“…3 The TREAT Asia program of amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research), established the TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD) in 2003, aimed at evaluating the impact of HIV disease, coinfections, and cART management on clinical outcomes in the Asia-Pacific, to inform HIV care and treatment practices and policies in the region. TAHOD 4 is a prospective observational database and adult cohort study that has collected data from 23 sites in 13 countries and territories in Asia. All TAHOD sites are major referral centers in urban cities.…”

“…Viral genotyping using Sanger sequencing is now integrated into HIV patient care in the developed world and aids the determination of treatment regimens for new patients as well as patients failing treatment [1][2][3]. Global databases of HIV sequences have been established [4][5][6] and serve to monitor the global diversity of viral genotypes, provide a reference for sequence interpretation, and catalyze discoveries related to sequence evolution and genotype-phenotype associations. In our own work we have used these databases to study the impact of different genetic backgrounds on the evolution of HIV-1 drug resistance [7][8][9].…”
