The Transport of Oversized Cargoes from the Perspective of Sustainable Transport Infrastructure in Cities

Abstract: The article deals with the transport of oversized cargoes from the perspective of parameters of road network in city environments. In recent years, there has been an increase in the transport of products with dimensions and weight considered above standard. It is very difficult to transport these products not only within Europe but also worldwide. This is also pointed out in the European directive, which recommends that all EU member states build a pan-European network of corridors for the transport of oversiz… Show more

“…This study provides the evaluation and statistical analysis of oversized cargo travelling the road in the cities of the Czech Republic. The parameter road infrastructure such as intersections radius, width, and heights for the transport cargoes and the trailer's clearance from the solid obstacles (Petru and Krivda 2021). This finding is supported by the study on the complexity of oversized cargo transportation in road transport in Polland conducted by Maxioszek.…”

“…Investigations on abnormal road transports are conducted in various countries (Gnap et al, 2022;Godavarthy et al, 2016;Hammada et al, 2013;Macioszek, 2020, Mohammed et al, 2018, Petru & Krivda, 2017, Petru & Krivda, 2021, Vrabel et al, 2022, Wood et al, 2007Yudhistira et al, 2022). According to the data reported in (Petru & Krivda, 2021), the weight of abnormal transports most often amounts to about 100 t (1000 kN). Transports weighing about 350-450 t (3500-4500 kN) occur rather sporadically.…”
