The theory of selective reflection for a Fabry–Perot interferometer

Abstract: In this paper we revisited the theory of selective reflection from a dilute vapor cell. A self-consistent theory was developed for reflection spectrum for Fabry-Perot interferometer. Formulas for single and multiple reflections were obtained. We also obtained the effective refractive index for a single selective reflection. The results of the paper are in a good agreement with existing experimental results.
