The synthesis and crystal structure of a new polyoxovandium cluster anion: [As III 8V IV 14O42(0.5H2O)]4?

Abstract: The da r kbrow n co m pou nd [ N ( Me)4]4[As"'8V'V, 4042( 0. 5H20)], co nta i n i ng a sp h e ri ca I a n ion [AsII18VIV1 4042(0. 5H20)]4containing condensed V05 square pyramids and As205 units, is synthesized hydrothermally from As203, V205 and (MeJ4NOH and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction.
