The Strategy of Outsourcing Information Systems and the Alignment Between Business Strategy and It

Abstract

A estratégia de terceirização tem sido praticada pelas empresas como uma opção para obter diferencial competitivo com a aplicação de sistemas de informação. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a relação entre a estratégia de terceirização de sistemas de informação e o alinhamento entre estratégia de negócios e de tecnologia de informação (AE 1 ). O método de pesquisa utilizado foi o estudo de caso. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de análise documental e entrevistas orientadas pelos modelos de AE e teorias relacionadas à terceirização de sistemas de informação identificados na literatura. Verificouse, pelos resultados obtidos, aderência da organização estudada aos modelos e concluiu-se que a mesma apresenta alto nível de AE. Ao final, foram propostas bases para um modelo de AE que contemple a junção das variáveis identificadas nos modelos estudados, destacando aquelas que possibilitam identificar a relação entre a terceirização de sistemas de informação e o alinhamento.Palavras-chave: alinhamento estratégico entre negócios e TI, estratégia de terceirização de sistemas de informação, modelos de avaliação do alinhamento estratégico. ABSTRACTThe outsourcing strategy has been practiced by companies as an option to gain competitive advantage while applying information systems. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the strategy of IS outsourcing and the alignment between business strategy and information technology (EA). The research method used was the case study. Data collection was conducted through interviews and document analysis guided by models of alignment between business strategy and information technology and theories related to outsourcing of information systems identified in the literature. The results have shown that the company under study complies with the models and presents a high level of EA. As an outcome, the article proposes a basis for a model of EA that includes combination of variables identified in the models studied, highlighting those that make it possible to identify the relationship between the outsourcing of information systems and alignment.
