The space distribution and transfer of positioning errors from actuators to the TCP point of parallel mechanism

Abstract: Abstract. The article deals with the analysis of the transfer and distribution of inaccuracies from actuators to the position of the point TCP on one of these machines. The real functional model of the mechanism was developed at the authors' workplace. The analyses of the workspace were carried out on CAD model. The results should be used for simulation of mechanism's behaviour, structural optimization as well as for generating of control algorithms for real functional prototype.

“…This was the reason why we realized a dynamic analysis of the device in the programme MSC.Adams (MSC.Software, Inc., Newport Beach, CA, USA). It is an MBS programme that serves for kinematic and dynamic analyses of various mechanical and mechatronic systems [ 38 , 39 , 40 , 41 ]. When we compared the individual components of individual mechanisms, we could see that the load mechanism for the cyclic loading of the specimen by torsion consisted of relieved components.…”

“…4. Kinematic scheme with reference points [17] This kind of mechanism has been analysed by different authors in various publications [3,4,13]. However, it is obvious that the mechanism of this suspension is four-element, closed and single-loop.…”

“…There are many types of constructions. The axles are the vehicle structural elements, which connects the vehicle frame and the wheel [1,3]. The axle consists of the wheels, wheel suspension system, wheel bearing system and optional systems: suspension, steering, drive and wheel braking [5,8,15,16].…”

“…Parallel mechanisms actuated in parallel by several serial kinematic chains can offer higher accuracy and stiffness, very high motion speed, and heavier payloads than their serial opponents [1][2][3][4][5]. Nowadays, the conventional parallel mechanism with six degrees of freedom (DOFs) of three translations and three rotations (structure 3T3R), also known as the Stewart platform, can be found in wide variety of applications involving motion simulators [6,7], parallel machine tools [8][9], force-torque sensors [10][11][12], heavy-duty free forming production machine [13], testing stands, antennas, micro-positioning units [14][15], calibration devices [16], etc.…”

“…To reach high tilting angles, several authors proposed some concepts [12], for example Eclipse mechanism for five-face machining in a single setup. On the other hand, not all applications need to reach so high mobility.…”
