The smoking of psychology.

Abstract: Academic psychologists (N = 344) were studied in regard to cigarette smoking and its correlates. Male psychologists were less likely to smoke than unselected U.S. adult males but were similar to most professional comparison groups. The women psychologists were more likely to smoke than the men because relatively fewer had stopped. Most smokers reported the expectation of reducing or stopping smoking in the future.
