The Semantic Service Search Engine (S3E)

Abstract: Currently, the Web is an important part of people's personal, professional and social life and thousands of services are becoming available online to support these. Since 2005, many efforts have been made to semantically describe Web services and several models have been proposed towards this direction, e.g. OWL-S, WSMO, SAWSDL. The Web follows a decentralized architecture, thus all the services are available at some location; but finding this location remains an open issue. Many efforts have been proposed to … Show more

“…Moreover, mentioned research concerned SOAP web services only. The second group of research is devoted to semantic approaches (Syeda-Mahmood et al, 2005;Hull et al, 2005;Bianchini et al, 2006;Esmaili and Abolhassani, 2006;Hogan et al, 2012;Loutas et al, 2012) and is based on standards like RDF, OWL-S, WSMO, SAWSDL. The semantic approaches perform with very high precision and recall, however, they concern only Semantic Web and SOAP web services.…”

“…Secondly, the homogenization phase when the semantics of every description are mapped to a reference service model. And lastly, the search phase when the users are enabled to query the underlying repository and find online services [9]. A specialized and dedicated semantic search engine known as GeneView has been developed that targets only the medical domains [10].…”

“…The Customer Service Model is an extension of the Unified Service Model. 4. Social descriptions, as a new service description paradigm, which expresses customer expectations and feedback, and introduces the bottom-up annotation of services, implicitly or explicitly, by the customers, complementing or even replacing (in case they do not exist) the service descriptions created by the providers in a top-down fashion.…”
