The role of the gastrointestinal tract in the processes of intoxication and detoxification of the body

Abstract: This review presents literature data on the role of the gastric tract in the processes of intoxication and detoxification of endoand exobiotics. The factors that promote the absorption and metabolism of toxic products in the gastrointestinal tract are described. The causes of intoxication and the mechanisms of two-phase detoxification with the participation of phase I enzymes of the biotransformation of xenobiotics in the intestine, in particular cytochrome P-450 isoenzymes, are described in detail. The predomin… Show more

“…Based on the results obtained, we can conclude that depending on the stage of the stress of the adaptation process, stud backs showed an increase in the compensatory reaction accompanied by hyperproteinemia on the background of a decrease in relative albumin values, which is caused by an increase in capillary permeability in the plantar surface of feet and migration of some albumin into adjacent tissues, and redistribution between the protein fractions [7]. A sharp decrease in total bilirubin in the second stage of the adaptation process against the background of a decrease in ALT, AST and alkaline phosphatase activity, indicates an increase in the functional activity of the liver with prolonged preservation of hepatocyte integrity [2,4]. An increase in total bilirubin and the enzymatic activities of ALT and AST with a further decrease in alkaline phosphatase during the third stage of the adaptation process may indicate the development of decompensatory mechanisms in functioning hepatocytes [5].…”

“…Расстройство прекращается как самостоятельно, так и на фоне приема ферментов, пребиотиков, пробиотиков, сорбентов и гликопептидов. У пациентов в отделении реанимации и интенсивной терапии диарея наблюдалась в 100% случаев, имеет тяжелое течение и сопровождалась электролитными нарушениями и белковой недостаточностью [127,401]. Наряду с использованием лекарственных препаратов следует проводить регидратацию и купирование электролитных нарушений.…”
