“…The occurrence of WSV-endemic bird species in different parts of the Amazon suggests an historical explanation related to landscape dynamics through time. Size and degree of isolation of WSV patches has a marked influence in the bird distribution and these two landscape proprieties may have had a dynamic history along the Pleistocene (Latrubesse 2002, Anhuf et al 2006, Rossetti 2014. The expansion and contraction of interfluvial forests, open areas, and riparian vegetation may have contributed to the isolation or connectivity of populations of WSV birds along time, leading to current distribution patterns.…”
