The role of premorbid personality and social cognition in suicidal behaviour in first-episode psychosis: A one-year follow-up study

Abstract

Symptom severity at illness onset, premorbid schizoid personality traits and ToM impairment emerged as predictors of SA in this FEP sample, which, if replicated, may be useful in identifying high-risk groups and implementing more targeted suicide prevention programs in FEP.

Abgesehen von einer Untersuchung, in der ToM fi lmbasiert erfasst wurde (Hatkevich, Venta & Sharp, 2019), kamen dabei überwiegend schriftlich formulierte Fallvignetten zum Einsatz (Canal-Rivero et al, 2017, 2019Duñó et al, 2009;Paradiso et al, 2016), in denen die Pro-band_innen den mentalen Zustand der Hauptperson (ToM-Aufgabe erster Ordnung) oder die Annahmen der Hauptperson über den mentalen Status einer weiteren Person (ToM-Aufgabe zweiter Ordnung) erschließen mussten. Social cognition and short-term prediction of suicidal ideation in schizophrenia

“…A recent study found an association between lower scores on the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) and suicidal ideation (along with positive symptom severity) in schizophrenia (Comparelli et al, 2018). Poorer performance on a false belief task predicted suicide attempts in first-episode patients (again, in conjunction with severity of positive symptoms) (Canal-Rivero et al, 2017).
