The role of macroalgae as nursery areas for fish species within coastal seascapes

Abstract: In an era of major global change identifying and protecting coastal nursery habitats is critically important. Nursery habitats contribute disproportionately to the final numbers of adults relative to other actual or potential juvenile habitats, from any combination of four main factors, elevated fish density, growth, survival of the juveniles, and their successful movement to adult habitats.
