The Role of Long Non-Coding RNA NNT-AS1 in Neoplastic Disease

Abstract: Studies have shown that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), especially long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), play an important regulatory role in the occurrence and development of human cancer. Nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase-antisense 1 (NNT-AS1) is a newly-discovered cytoplasmic lncRNA. Many studies have shown that it has abnormally-high expression levels in malignant tumors, but there are also a few studies that have reported low expression levels of NNT-AS1 in gastric cancer, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer. At… Show more

“…Among these biomarkers, there is no research reporting the role of FIRRE and NNT-AS1 in UCEC. But NNT-AS1, the regulatory mechanism of microRNA (miRNA) sponge, may affect tumor cell proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and apoptosis 74 and has been found to be involved in the progress of pneumonia. 75 FIRRE can promote the growth of DLBCL cells.…”

“… 8 They have limited protein-coding potential but have been considered a very hot research topic in biology. 9–11 lncRNAs are engaged in a wide array of diverse physiological and pathological processes through gene regulation at the transcriptional, post-transcriptional, or translational level. 12 , 13 Currently, lncRNAs have received considerable attention as novel critical controllers of cancer oncogenesis and progression.…”

“…Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), non-coding RNA longer than 200 nucleotides, demonstrated important roles in carcinogenesis 16 , 17 . LncRNAs could modulate various biological functions by regulating mRNA expression through sponging miRNAs 18 , 19 . In this study, we firstly studied the role of NSE in the migration, invasion and EMT process of SCLC.…”
