“…The proliferation of electronic banking in Nigeria in the last two decades has generated interest from researchers, and has been studied under various conceptual spectrums, namely; the impact of information technologies on banking and insurance (Agwu et al, 2000;Oluwatolani et al, 2011), adoption of online banking (Agwu, 2012;Dalhatu et al, 2014;Okeke and Okpala, 2014;Tarhini et al, 2015), electronic payment systems (Acha, 2008;Adewuyi, 2011;Joseph and Richard, 2015;Adu, 2016;Ololade and Ogbeide, 2017), factors affecting mobile phones or M-banking (Bankole et al, 2011;Agwu and Carter, 2014;Olasina, 2015), and more recently e-banking operational efficiency and financial inclusion (Taiwa and Agwu, 2017;Ene et al, 2019). These studies provide empirical and qualitative evidence of the opportunities presented by electronic banking and highlight the economic benefits and challenges of electronic banking in Nigeria.…”
