The role of awake video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in spontaneous pneumothorax

Abstract

In our study, awake video-assisted thoracoscopic bullectomy with pleural abrasion proved easily feasible and resulted in shorter hospital stays and reduced procedure-related costs while providing equivalent outcome to procedures performed under general anesthesia.

Pompeo ve ark.nın [2] yapmış oldukları randomize kontrollü çalışmada ise uyanık VYTC uygulanan PSP'li olguların hastanede kalış sürelerinin genel anestezi uygulanan olgulara kıyasla anlamlı şekilde kısaldığı ve daha maliyet etkin olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Yazarlar ayrıca uyanık VYTC'den sonra ilk 24 saat içinde taburcu edilen olgular olduğunu belirtmişlerdir.…”
