“…Vogt (1922) described Gecko melli (= Gekko melli) based on Mell's wide-ranging amphibian and reptile collection named it in his honour. Pope (1935) synonymised this taxon with Gekko subpalmatus (Gü nther 1864). Gekko melli differs from G. subpalmatus in numerous characters and was revalidated as a species by Rö sler et al (2005).…”
