The Relationship between Women’s Employment and Divorce: An Empirical Analysis on Turkey

Abstract: The number of studies examining the relationship between women's employment and divorce is limited in the literature. In the majority of studies on this subject and all of the studies on Turkey, female employment variable was not analyzed in detail according to marital status. “…In the analysis performed using the ARDL method, the results suggested positive and significant relationships between income, population, unemployment, and labor force participation rates. Also in a study carried out by Telatar (2020) investigating the relationship between women employment and divorces in Türkiye for the period 1988-2013, it was determined that there was a positive relationship between women employment and increase in divorces.
