The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and distance education perception levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates during the pandemic process. The population of the study consists of teacher candidates (n=908) studying at the physical education and sports teaching departments of the School of Physical Education and Sports and Sports Sciences within the private and public universities affiliated to the Higher Education Institution in Istanbul, and the sample consists of volunteers (n=398) determined by simple random sampling method from this population. In order to collect data, the Google Forms platform was preferred in order to maintain social distance during the pandemic process. During the data collection process, information and questionnaires about the study were communicated to the participants through social networks. Volunteers who participated in the study were asked to fill in the personal information form, academic self-efficacy and distance education perception scales. The data obtained in the study were analyzed in computer environment. Variables are expressed by using mean ± standard deviation, percentage and frequency values. Pearson product moments correlation analysis (r) was applied to reveal the relationships between the scales. For the significance level of the tests, p<0.05 and p<0.01 values were accepted. As a result, it was determined that the academic self-efficacy and distance education perception levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates were above the average. Between the academic self-efficacy and perception of distance education. A low level positive relationship was found. It is thought that this situation is caused by the concerns of physical education and sports teacher candidates, who are accustomed to the face-to-face transfer of knowledge and skills related to the teaching models of sportive skills, to the transition to distance education and to the problems that may occur in this process and not to learn the necessary knowledge and skills related to their professional development. Physical activity (PA) is known to have positive effects on both the mental and physical health of individuals, especially those who experience high levels of stress, such as teachers. Previous studies have examined the relationship between teachers' PA, mental health, and well-being, but there is a lack of research on the direct and indirect effects of PA and self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationship between teachers' PA, mental health, well-being, and self-efficacy among ESL/EFL teachers. A total of 364 Chinese English language teachers were selected through convenience sampling. Mental health, physical activity, psychological well-being, and self-efficacy instruments were used. The data was analyzed using Smart PLS software, and the hypothesized model was evaluated. The results indicated an acceptable level of divergent and convergent validity and goodness of fit. The findings revealed that PA is a direct predictor of teachers' mental health and well-being, but the direct structural relationship between teachers' PA and self-efficacy was not confirmed. However, the results showed that teachers' PA contributes to their self-efficacy by enhancing their mental health and psychological well-being. The total effect of teachers' PA on their self-efficacy was significant. Additionally, mental health and psychological well-being were found to be strong predictors of teachers' self-efficacy. In conclusion, regular weekly physical activity can help EFL/ESL teachers foster their mental health, psychological well-being, and self-efficacy. These findings have theoretical and practical significance for teachers, teacher trainers, and educational psychologists.

The goal of the study is academic efficacy related to patience tendencies of teacher candidates of physical education. The research contained teacher candidates studying in sports science departments of state universities in the Eastern Black Sea region, and randomly selected 205 people as sample group. Socio-demographic form, self-efficacy and patience tendency scales were performed by participants. Statistical analysis was performed in computer environment. The arithmetic averages of the scores of sports science students from scales are reported. Spearman correlation analysis (r) was used. The results showed that while the academic self-efficacy levels of the participants were high, the total and sub-dimensions of the patience disposition were at an average level. Psitively low level of correlation was seen between continuous variables. When academic self-efficacy and the subdimensions of patience tendency were examined, a positively low correlation was found with patience against haste, and a moderate positive relationship with anger against anger was seen. It is thought that this situation is because of the participants' in-faculty curriculum programs and the effects of the sports branch they are dealing with on their character development.
