“…Breeders have made crosses between selected but restricted number of double low rapeseed genotypes within the breeding gene pool. Today, molecular restriction fragment length polymorphism, RAPD, AFLP, single sequence repeat, and single-nucleotide polymorphism markers have been extensively used for the estimation of genetic distance or genetic similarity and provide more information than is available from pedigree information (Irzykowska and Bocianowski, 2008;Krzymińska et al, 2008;Wolko et al, 2010;Bus et al, 2011;Bocianowski and Seidler-Łożykowska, 2012;Irzykowska et al, 2012Irzykowska et al, , 2013Seidler-Łożykowska et al, 2014;Varghese et al, 2014;Abbasi et al, 2015). The objective of this study was to characterize the levels and patterns of genetic similarity among the 101 B. napus genotypes of different origin using selected AFLP primer combinations.…”

“…In yet another study (Kwon et al 2013), genetic diversity, population structure and genome-wide marker-trait association analyses of 298 homozygous lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) lines identified nine single nucleotide polymorphic (SNP) markers which were significantly (p \ 0.0001) associated with phenotypic trait. Bocianowskia and Katarzyna (2012) studied the relationships between randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers and 22 quantitative traits of caraway (Carum carvi L.) using regression analysis and found 44 RAPD markers to be associated with at least one trait. Similarly, several markers which have been identified to be associated with valerenic acid content and antioxidant activity were found to show an interactive effect of selected independent variables on the dependent variable (Steel and Torrie 1980;Pradeep et al 2007).…”

“…Most of the MTAs were different under the two irrigation regimes, indicating the environmental effects in these associations [51]. These results showed that different genes may contribute to the same trait in different environments [52] or there might be a change in the expression level of the same gene between the two environments [48].…”
