The assessment of the relationship between problematic internet use and parent-adolescent relationship quality, loneliness, anger, and problem solving skillsObjective: The main purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between problematic internet use, and parent-adolescent relationship quality, loneliness, anger, and problem solving skills. Another aim of the current study was to find out differences related to sociodemographic variables, such as gender and socioeconomic status in problematic internet use. Method: The sample was composed of 402 university students. Online Cognition Scale, Parent-Adolescent Relationship Quality Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, Problem Solving Inventory and Multidimensional Anger Inventory were used. The statistical analysis of data was conducted by using correlation analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and multiple mediation model test (Bootstrap). Results: The results revealed that 16.4% of participants had high scores on problematic internet use, and spent 2.7 hours (SD=1.23) a day on the internet on average. Males had higher levels of problematic internet use when compared to females. The results of mediating effects of anger, problem solving, and loneliness on relationship quality between parent-adolescents, and problematic internet use revealed that these variables partially mediated the relationship between negative mother-adolescent relationship and problematic internet use. Discussion: These results provide helpful tips that can be used in the prevention and intervention programs related to problematic internet use. Psychological counseling and psychotherapy in practice may include strengthening the relationship between adolescents with problematic internet use and their parents. Moreover, following the assessment of their loneliness, and anger levels, and problem solving skills, interventions related to communications skills, anger management, and problem solving approaches may decrease their problematic internet use. Bu araĢtırmanın amacı, psikolojik esneklik ve problem çözme becerileri değiĢkenlerinin yetiĢkinlerin sosyal medya bağımlılığı düzeylerini ne kadar yordadığının incelenmesidir. ÇalıĢmanın araĢtırma grubunu 2022 yılında Akdeniz Bölgesinde yaĢayan 177 (%48,4) erkek, 189 (%51,6) kadın olmak üzere toplam 366 yetiĢkin oluĢturmaktadır. AraĢtırma grubuna iliĢkin yaĢ ortalaması 44,08'dir. Veri toplama araçları olarak "Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeği -YetiĢkin Formu", "Psikolojik Esneklik Ölçeği", "YetiĢkinler Ġçin Problem Çözme Becerileri Ölçeği" ve "KiĢisel Bilgi Formu" kullanılmıĢtır. AraĢtırmada veriler çoklu doğrusal regresyon analiz (adımsal) yöntemi ile çözümlenmiĢtir. AraĢtırma sonucunda, yetiĢkinlerde sosyal medya bağımlılığını birinci sırada "psikolojik esneklik" ve ikinci sırada "problem çözme becerileri" değiĢkenlerinin anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı belirlenmiĢtir.

Science learning in elementary schools using the PBL learning model can grow students' higher-order thinking skills, such as problem-solving and creative thinking skills. The purpose of correlational research was to analyze the relationship between problem-solving and creative thinking skills of elementary school students through the implementation of PBL. The predictor variables and criteria in the research were in the form of problem-solving and creative thinking skills, respectively. The population of this study was the fifth-grade elementary school students, totaling 120 students. This study’s sample was 33 students. The data retrieval used problem-solving and creative thinking skills tests on the concept of the human circulatory system. The data analysis was performed by linear regression. The results showed a correlation between creative thinking and problem-solving skills in learning with PBL. There is a strong relationship between problem-solving and creative thinking skills through PBL. The predictor variable contributed 37.8% to the criterion variable. This study recommends that it is essential to familiarize PBL in elementary schools learning to improve students' higher-order thinking skills.
