The current study aims to examine the mediational effects of explicit weight stigma and moral disengagement (MD) and moderating effects of empathy on the relationship between implicit weight stigma and bullying perpetration. Two hundred and twenty‐eight college students (112 men, mean age of 19.89 ± 1.82 years) completed implicit (the Single Category Implicit Association Test) and explicit (the development of the weight stigma scale) measures of weight stigma, and responded to questionnaires regarding MD, empathy, and bullying perpetration. Structural equation modeling was conducted and mediating effects were tested using AMOS 17.0 software. The results indicated that implicit weight stigma significantly predicted bullying perpetration. After controlling for gender, this association was jointly mediated by explicit weight stigma and MD. Furthermore, empathy moderated the relationship between implicit weight stigma and bullying perpetration. Specifically, college students who have high levels of implicit weight stigma and low levels of empathy would score higher on the bully questionnaire. These findings may provide a possible explanation for when and how implicit weight stigma relates to bullying perpetration.

Resumen: La triada oscura de la personalidad, es un área poco investigada en psicología en la población adolescente. A partir de esto, se puede ver inmersa en problemas sociales como es el caso del bullying cibernético. En función de esto, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar la relación entre la triada oscura de la personalidad y el ciberbullying en adolescentes de una Unidad Educativa pública de la provincia de Loja, Ecuador. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo no experimental con alcance descriptivo correlacional. Para esto se aplicó una encuesta sociodemográfica, cuestionario de ciberacoso, cuestionario de víctimas de Ciberbullying y la escala de la triada oscura de la personalidad. La investigación incluyo a 94 adolescentes estudiantes. Los resultados muestran relación entre los rasgos característicos de la triada oscura de personalidad y el accionar, que se refiere a la conducta que corresponde al ciberbullying. Así se demuestra cómo la personalidad en los adolescentes, influye en actos relacionados al acoso a través de los medios digitales.

In this work, quantitative research is carried out on the perceptions of early childhood education teachers and child psychologists about the incidence of bullying behaviors in early childhood education (3 to 6 years old) and their knowledge and experience in this regard. For this purpose, two questionnaires were used, each of them oriented to one of the two groups of professionals analyzed, whose answers were subjected to statistical analysis. As for results, it has been obtained that early childhood education teachers express having received deficient training in school bullying and have little experience in its detection and treatment. Furthermore, the teachers’ conception of bullying occurring in their own schools is not realistic and differs from the knowledge they have of the existence of bullying behavior in other schools. Likewise, the existence of action plans against bullying in the school conditions the teachers’ assessments. The assessments held by psychologists differ significantly from those of teachers, mainly in the identification of the origin of bullying (which teachers attribute to the use of digital technologies and psychologists to the social and family environment of the aggressor). Finally, some implications and recommendations in terms of the training of educational professionals on bullying and the need for greater collaboration between teachers and psychologists are reported.
