Prosociality, orientation to attuned, empathic relationships, is built from the ground up, through supportive care in early life that fosters healthy neurobiological structures that shape behavior. Numerous social and environmental factors within early life have been identified as critical variables influencing child physiological and psychological outcomes indicating a growing need to synthesize which factors are the most influential. To address this gap, we examined the influence of early life experiences according to the evolved developmental niche or evolved nest and its influence on child neurobiological and sociomoral outcomes, specifically, the oxytocinergic system and prosociality, respectively. To-date, this is the first review to utilize the evolved nest framework as an investigatory lens to probe connections between early life experience and child neurobiological and sociomoral outcomes. The evolved nest is comprised of characteristics over 30 million years old and is organized to meet a child’s basic needs as they mature. Converging evidence indicates that humanity’s evolved nest meets the needs of a rapidly developing brain, optimizing normal development. The evolved nest for young children includes soothing perinatal experiences, breastfeeding, positive touch, responsive care, multiple allomothers, self-directed play, social embeddedness, and nature immersion. We examined what is known about the effects of each evolved nest component on oxytocinergic functioning, a critical neurobiological building block for pro-sociomorality. We also examined the effects of the evolved nest on prosociality generally. We reviewed empirical studies from human and animal research, meta-analyses and theoretical articles. The review suggests that evolved nest components influence oxytocinergic functioning in parents and children and help form the foundations for prosociality. Future research and policy should consider the importance of the first years of life in programming the neuroendocrine system that undergirds wellbeing and prosociality. Complex, interaction effects among evolved nest components as well as among physiological and sociomoral processes need to be studied. The most sensible framework for examining what builds and enhances prosociality may be the millions-year-old evolved nest.

The crisis of oxygen availability that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic created a sense of empathy for a group of communities and the general public who are interconnected with technological sophistication. The development of technology that is growing [1] and without limits, brings every individual to be able to carry out various activities and interactions without having to carry out face-to-face or what is called virtual. The purpose of this study is to find out more about the ways and purposes of virtual organizations via Telegram after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted using a qualitative method using a netnographic approach, observation and documentation data collection techniques in the Telegram group with 2,216 active members and will be analyzed in depth through data reduction, display data and drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that empathy can appear through a virtual telegram organ called the "Jogja Oxygen Community" group. This is evidenced by several forms of empathy, including: firstly, providing information about oxygen cylinders in the Yogyakarta area, secondly, offering assistance and mutual support among members. The group, even though it is virtual, the three provide solutions to each other if there are difficulties related to oxygen cylinder information, finally reminding and taking care of each other if something is not in accordance with the group's provisions.

Background: The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia has decreased gradually. The strategy to reduce stunting is currently prioritized on improving socio-economic levels, fulfilling food intake, and sanitation conditions. This study aims to analyze the association between sociodemographics, nutrition, and sanitation on stunting in rural West Java Province in Indonesia. Design and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in May–August 2022 among 247 mother-children pairs, selected by systematic random sampling from a rural area of West Java Province in Indonesia. The sociodemographic characteristics were measured using a structured questionnaire. The nutritional status of the children under five was assessed by length/height-for-age (HAZ), and was calculated using WHO Anthro software. Sanitation is assessed using observation and interviews with a structured questionnaire. Results: The prevalence of stunting in children under five was 20.7% (5.3% severely stunted and 15.4% stunted). Binary logistic regression analysis using SPSS version 22.0 show that mother’s height as the dominant factor associated with stunting in children under five (AOR = 3.45, 95% CI: 1.12–4.67, p = 0.008). In addition, children’s age (AOR = 0.250, 95% CI: 0.104–0.598, p = 0.002); balanced diet practices (AOR = 1.57, 95% CI: 0.965–2.56, p = 0.069), and building materials (AOR = 1.869, 95% CI: 0.87–4.00, p = 0.108 are also related to stunting in children under five. Conclusions: Efforts to improve maternal nutrition need to be carried out from the period before pregnancy to the first 1000 days of life. Education on healthy home indicators, especially the use of this type of building materials for houses, needs to be done to improve sanitation as an effort to prevent stunting in children under five.
