Organic farming practices (OFP) are key components of sustainable agriculture. However, the adoption of OFP is not yet widespread. Therefore, this study examined the willingness to adopt OFP among arable crop farmers in Oyo State, Nigeria. A multi-stage and proportionate sampling technique was used to select 333 arable crop farmers with the aid of a structured questionnaire. Mean, percentages, Chi-square, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation α 0.05 were used to analyse the results. Fifty percent (50%) of the respondents had high knowledge, and 46.1% had a moderately favourable perception of OFP. The majority (71.5%) were willing to adopt OFP. Inadequate credit facilities ( ˉx=1.79) and lack of access to organic inputs ( ˉx =1.57) were major barriers to adopting OFP. Farm size (r = -0.114), household size (r = -0.180), farmer’s knowledge (r = 0.128), and perception of OFP (r = 0.122) were significantly related to farmers’ willingness to adopt OFP. Arable crop farmers were willing to adopt OFP. They should therefore be equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills through training programmes.

It is impossible to fulfill the rising food demands of expanding population. As the organic fertilizer is the only and sustainable choice. Numerous types of research in agriculture are the significant evidence of organic fertilizer adoption. So, the whole emphasis of this paper is on assessing the most influencing predictors of organic fertilizers adoption among farmers. The review is based on secondary data and information available in the scientific domains and the time is limit to the years 2001 to 2022. The results revealed that farmers' knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP), extension services, market availability, sources of information, and many demographic factors such as education, farm size, etc. play a crucial role in organic fertilizer adoption. The results further explored as the organic fertilizers are the slow release of organic matter but their nutrients are long-lasting. It is required for all relevant organizations in each country all over the world to pave the way of educational programs to improve farmers' information, extension services, knowledge, and ease the access to marketabout organic fertilizer adoption. However, it is required to hold various approaches like training, incentive programs, field work with farmers, and supply of (brochures, leaflets, magazines, etc.) for the target group to facilitate the said important factors for the farmers to adopt organic fertilizer adoption. There is a need for a scientific study to find the exact requirement of organic fertilizer in agricultural farms' land. Thus it will result in a high yield of diverse crops, clean and sustainable environment.

Crucifers and traditional African vegetables (TAVs) are important to smallholders in Kenya and Tanzania, but yield remains below potential due to pests and diseases. Agroecological production methods present a nature-based solution to pest and disease management in crucifer and TAV production. We explore the status of farmers’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding agroecological-based production pest management practices. Structured and pretested questionnaires were used to collect data from 1071 vegetable farming households in Kenya and Tanzania. Using descriptive statistics, parametric, and non-parametric analysis, our study revealed that less than 20% of farmers had received training on agroecological-based practices and less than 25% were aware of most of these practices. Among those who were aware of the practices and could confirm their effectiveness less than 12% had adopted them, except for crop rotation and handpicking of pests. This study attributes the low adoption to farmers’ negative attitudes towards the practices. Nonetheless, the study further revealed that training significantly and positively influences the adoption of the practices. Therefore, we recommend that governments and other stakeholders promote targeted awareness campaigns and increase access to training on vegetable production using sustainable pest and disease management practices.
