The Relationship Between Kinematic Determinants of Jump and Sprint Performance in Division I Women Soccer Players

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between measures of unilateral and bilateral jumping performance and 10- and 25-m sprint performance. Fifteen division I women soccer players (height 165 ± 2.44 cm, mass 61.65 ± 7.7 kg, age 20.19 ± 0.91 years) volunteered to participate in this study. The subjects completed a 10- and 25-m sprint test. The following jump kinematic variables were measured using accelerometry: sprint time, step length, step frequency, jump height and distance, contact ti… Show more

“…Researchers have described anthropometric characteristics of high school [40], university [37,41,42], lower division domestic league [32], higher division domestic league [21,33] and national team players [10,13]. However, the anthropometric profile of elite youth players has yet to be fully examined.…”

“…Speed A plethora of studies [22,29,37,[40][41][42][43][44]56,57] have undertaken speed testing with female soccer players, however, the use of different assessment protocols limits comparison. For example, the distance that a player stands before the first timing gate is variable with 0 cm [41,58] and 88 cm [21] being used in the literature.…”
