The Relationship Between Innovation and Productivity Based on R&D and ict Use

Abstract

Cet article évalue le rôle de la recherche et développement (R&D) et de l’usage des technologies de l’information et de communication ( tic ) dans l’innovation et la productivité du travail de l’entreprise. La méthode d’estimation est basée sur le modèle cdm en trois étapes. Contrairement à la plupart des études existantes, nous proposons une distinction entre les dépenses de R&D interne et externe. De plus, nous utilisons différentes spécifications des tic pour capturer leur degré de variété, plutôt qu’une mesure agrégée du capital tic . Les résultats soulignent la complexité de la gestion des investissements dans les tic et la R&D pour l’amélioration de l’innovation des entreprises. Tout en confirmant le rôle reconnu de facilitateur d’innovation de ces intrants à l’innovation, les résultats soulignent que toutes les hausses d’investissements dans les tic et la R&D ne se traduisent pas par des augmentations équivalentes de la capacité d’une entreprise à innover. Les résultats des estimations confirment également la relation positive entre l’innovation et la productivité du travail. JEL Codes: C13, C34, O31
