The relationship between information technology acceptance and organizational agility in Malaysia

Abstract: We examined the influence of information technology (IT) acceptance on organizational agility. The study was based on a well-established theoretical model, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). We attempted to identify the relationships between IT acceptance and organizational agility in order to see how the acceptance of technology contributes to a firm's ability to be an agile competitor. Structural equation modeling techniques were used to analyze the data. Results from a survey involving 329 managers and … Show more

“…All factor loadings exceeded the 0.5 threshold level with loadings ranging from 0.64 to 0.80. Additionally, Cronbach's alpha results ranged from 0.57-0.86 indicating that the scale used was reliable (Fang et al, 2004;Hatcher, 1994;Zain et al, 2005). The results underline that the transferor characteristics factor is the key enabler of the TT process explaining almost half (35%) of the total variance in the data set (77%).…”

“…The measurement model for these six constructs (latent variables) had acceptable goodness-of-fit indices: RMSEA = 0.048, GFI = 0.90, CFI = 0.96, TLI = 0.95 (Ragu-Nathan et al, 2004;Zain et al, 2005).…”

“…Since human mind capabilities are limited in terms of grasping important changes that take place in the environment surrounding it, so has the current business environment for any organization in the world become complicated and highly dynamic (Zain et al, 2005). Therefore, it has become necessary that organizations in dire need for light movement of human capital be characterized with sensing agility, decision-making, and agility in carrying out work properly.…”

“…This model has been used in many researches in different countries and its applicability has been investigated. This model has been introduced by [5] in the doctoral dissertation. As can be seen, the basis of this model is two factors: "perception of usefulness" and "perception of ease of use".…”
